Abstract
A system and method to retrieve information of second degree network by utilizing first degree network. The invention provides a mobile application that allows users to leverage their existing phone contacts (first degree contacts) to discover and connect with contacts of their contacts (second degree contacts) through intelligent query matching and permission-based access.
The Problem
Your phone contacts represent one of the most valuable networks you have — but it sits dormant. Traditional networking requires starting fresh on new platforms, rebuilding connections you already have. You might be one connection away from a business partner, advisor, or service provider, and never know it because there was no way to discover those overlapping relationships.
The Solution
This patent describes a mobile application system with several innovative features:
- Query-based discovery: Submit natural language queries to search through your second degree network based on keywords, professions, or services needed
- Ecosystem concept: Your first degree contacts form an “ecosystem” representing all reachable contacts within your direct network
- Trusted contacts: Grant permission to specific contacts to access your full phonebook, enabling deeper network discovery
- Rating system: Rate services and contacts based on quality, building a trust layer for recommendations
- Location awareness: Filter results based on geographic proximity for local service discovery
- Privacy controls: Permission-based system where users control what contact information is shared
Technical Innovation
The system maintains a contact relation database that maps relationships between users globally. When a user submits a query, the application computes intent using natural language processing, combines it with user history and preferences, then searches through second degree contacts to return relevant first degree contacts who can facilitate the connection.
